Saturday, April 22nd, at 21.00, in Cremona, at the Church of Sant'Agata, the Amatys Chorus, coming from the French city of Yutz, will perform, under the direction of Mr. Willy Fontanel and Mr. Mathieu REGNAULT on piano, with the extraordinary participation of the Chorus Ponchielli Vertova, directed by M. Patrizia Bernelich with the Maestro Paolo Bottini on the organ and the soloists Mina Rossetti, soprano, Cristiano Binotto, tenor, and Giuseppe Tomasoni, baritone, as part of the Masterclass project, promoted by the Chamber of Commerce, with the contribution of the Lombardy Region, in collaboration with the Municipality of Cremona, the Botanical Invasions, the International School of Violinmaking and the Liutai Consortium "Antonio Stradivari" Cremona.

The concert is free, subject to availability.

The two choirs will perform in a musical program, for the French choir AMATYS, with works by J. P. BOCANEGRA, J. LEAVITT, O. GJEILO, G. FAURE, B. JOEL, D. TIOMKIN, A. DONA, C. AZNAVOUR, H. MANCINI, A. L. WEBBER, and for the Chorus Ponchielli Vertova, the program includes works by A. VIVALDI, G. ROSSINI, M. FRISINI, J. BUSTO, P. BERNELICH, W.A.MOZART, A. PONCHIELLI.

The concert will end with the performance of both choirs on the notes of the famous songs of G. FAURE, in "Le cantique de Jean Racine" and G.VERDI, in "Va Pensiero".

The AMATYS CHORUS is an amateur chorus of adults, directed by the Maestro. Willy Fontanel and accompanied by the pianist Mathieu Regnault, which will involve about 65 singers.

The history of the Amatys Choir began in September 1997. Very quickly showed originality and skill. The Amatys choir is constantly searching for experiences that are varied and enriching. Very active in the French city, is engaged in the creation of large-scale musical events, regularly performs in concerts throughout the region and beyond the borders, in a varied atmosphere with colorful repertoires, distinguished each time for its dynamism and for its precision in interpretations.

The OPERA CHOIR PONCHIELLI VERTOVA of Cremona represents a well-rooted choral tradition in the territory, developed mainly in the operatic repertoire, and recently, also in the sacred and symphonic. Carries out activities of dissemination of the lyrical heritage to protect the Italian belcantistica tradition. His repertoire includes works by Verdi, Bellini, Rossini, Puccini, Mascagni, Donizetti, Offenbach, Bizet, Ponchielli etc. In the sacred repertoire works by Fauré, Mozart, Verdi, Saint-Saens, Vivaldi and Mascagni. In the symphonic works of Beethoven (IX symphony) and Orff (Carmina Burana). Some particularly significant stages of the musical path: in 2012 the Choir performed at the Cathedral of Cremona and in that of Pavia the grandiose Requiem Mass of G. Verdi, In 2015 the Cathedral of Cremona and Piacenza also performed the IX Symphony by L. Van Beethoven. In 2017 Carmina Burana by C. Orff at the Ponchielli theatre in Cremona and concerts dedicated to the Great War and other institutional events. Significant collaborations with cultural realities of Cremona: Municipality of Cremona (Night of the Museums), Teatro Ponchielli, and Adafa. He has recorded rare works by A. Ponchielli for the Bongiovanni label and collaborated with bass Michele Pertusi and Carlo Colombara, soprano Dimitra Theodossiou, baritone Ambrogio Maestri and baritone Leo Nucci. It should also be noted that the Chorus took part last June in the "Opera Festival" in Brescia with three concerts and repeated in Piacenza on 19 July the "Carmina Burana".
