The YOUTH ORCHESTRA OF BUCKS COUNTY, Pennsylvania (YOBC) was founded in 1991 with the mission to create opportunities for young musicians to achieve artistic excellence through enriching classical musical experiences. YOBC provides these students with advanced musical training to enhance and supplement their school programs. Since its debut season, the organization has grown to nearly 200 young musicians. The core of YOBC’s educational mission is our performance ensemble program, which is designed to challenge and develop the skills of young musicians at every level. Additional enrichment programs include master classes, guest artists, chamber music, leadership and community service opportunities, a concerto competition, and international concert tours. In addition, YOBC has an ongoing commitment to scholarship programs and outreach to underserved communities. Since 1991 YOBC has provided opportunities for over 4,000 young musicians.

Robert Loughran is the Music Director of the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County and the conductor of YOBC’s Symphony Orchestra. He is currently a member of the Arts Faculty of Princeton High School, where he works as Music Director of the orchestra program. He is a former member of the music faculties of Westminster Choir College of Rider University and Bucks County Community College. Holding a Bachelor of Arts from Gettysburg College and a Master of Music from Northwestern University, Mr. Loughran has studied conducting with Dr. Joseph Barone (École Monteux) , and Herbert Blomstedt, Honorary Conductor of the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester. He has conducted the Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra, Temple University’s Gifted Young Musicians Baroque Orchestra, and the Orchestra Society of Philadelphia
