Scarsdale High School Chamber Orchestra

Scarsdale High School Chamber Orchestra has an outstanding music program that is one of the oldest in the United States. The orchestra has won both local and international awards. In addition to the regular concert series, the orchestra makes a biennial international tour. In recent years, the orchestra has performed in countries such as Argentina, Ireland, Cuba, Finland, France, Austria, and Hungary and is excited to return to Italy and Switzerland. Scarsdale High School Orchestra boasts alumni from some of the most prestigious music schools and universities in the United States.

Amédée Williams, the American conductor, has performed throughout North America in the solo, chamber, and orchestral roles. He was a participant in the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute and was featured in a series of concerts by young artists presented by the Chamber Music Society of the Lincoln Center. Mr. Williams is the author of Lillian Fuchs: First Lady of the Viola, a biography of a musician who was one of her teachers and contributed several articles to the new edition of the Groves Dictionary of Music and Musicians. He holds a Master of Arts degree in music performance from Mannes College of Music and in arts administration from New York University. He also holds a degree in finance from the Lubin School of Business of Pace University. Mr. Williams performs with the Olana Chamber Players, a group he co-founded, is also the orchestral director of the Scarsdale High School Orchestra, and serves as president of the William Lincer Foundation

Mousikè Youth Orchestra:

The Cremona Mousikè Youth Orchestra, promoted and supported by the Department of Educational Policies of the Municipality of Cremona, the Secondary School of Music M. G. Vida, and the Stauffer Foundation, consists of children from 8 to 18 years, coming from different musical realities of the city and the neighboring provinces. The orchestra currently consists of about 70 members. The numerous events in which he is the protagonist emphasize the artistic and musical value of the group. The repertoire ranges from classical to more modern music literature, close to the younger generations (L. Van Beethoven- E. Grieg - Lady Gaga - Ennio Morricone). All arrangements are designed to allow everyone to participate, so the songs are unique and original. The Orchestra is the protagonist of important events and concerts at different realities of the territory of Cremona and Italy (Teatro Ponchielli, Auditorium Museo del Violino, Duomo di Cremona, Teatro Gioco Vita di Piacenza, Bormio), and has also been featured in concerts performed abroad at the Teatro Duna Palota in Budapest and important twinning with orchestras from Japan, America, China, and Holland.
